Since I have been here I have heard several times that Kenya and South Africa are the Keys to Africa. Meaning, if both South Africa and Kenya adopt the use of GMOs, then the rest of Africa will follow. It therefore makes sense that Kenya is the focal point for the “New Green Revolution for Africa.” Many of the NGOs, Government organizations, UN organizations, and corporations involved in “transforming” African agriculture have offices or are based in Nairobi. As well, a majority of AGRA’s grants go to projects for development in Kenya.
